Editorial Reviews : The Polaroid i-zone digital and instant Combo Camera splices together the popular i-zone instant camera with a basic digital camera. You can take an i-zone postage-stamp size picture, and then turn the camera over and take the same picture with the digital camera at a resolution of 640 x 480. This device is essentially two separate cameras that share one set of batteries. The digital camera has 1 MB of built-in memory and can store up to 18 images. Both the i-zone and digital camera use fixed-focus lenses, so you never need to worry about taking out-of-focus pictures. A serial cable is included to download your images to your PC. Software is included to spruce up and modify your digital images. Included in the box are a serial image transfer cable, batteries, sticky film, and assorted software.
Buyer Reviews : Okay, it's a nice idea. It blends the popular I-zone Polaroid instant camera with a *very* basic digital camera. Well, it does neither task well, and no one is going to come to love this thing once the initial cuteness wears off. As an I-zone, a fun little camera that prints instant postage stamp photos (from pretty expensive Polaroid-only film), it's way overpriced. As a digital camera, it's way underfeatured. It lacks a zoom, an expandable memory, a decent resolution (it's not good enough to print even 5 x 7s), and, most woefully, a USB connection to download the few pics the onboard memory can handle. You may think that's no big deal, but it makes getting those pics onto your computer a slow, painful and battery-consuming process. If you want an I-zone, buy one; if you want a basic digital camera, look at Amazon's collection (or the ones I've reviewed). In any case, you can probably buy an I-zone *and* a better digital camera (that will serve more purposes and therefore last you longer) for about the same money.
